The chairs were uncomfortable, and that's putting it mildly. After sitting for 10 minutes my backside began to hurt. They need to splurge for some comfortable chairs. The pasta fajole soup was the only saving grace of the meal, and what a dish it was! It is not a true pasta fajole, so vegans beware - there is meat in the soup. It was the chef's own creation and it was wonderful. The pasta entrees were not homemade, but to be fair, nobody makes penne, it's always from a box. The crab and pasta dish was tasteless. Very disappointed after all the stellar reviews. Now that I look at them, it seems contrived. The jury is still out on whether the desserts were homemade. Neither dessert was served with whipped cream. WTF?! Mine was icy cold, the other dessert...well it was not worth the trip there and so we will not be going back. They were understaffed for a Saturday night. I should not have had to ask for water.

Simply put - not only the best restaurant in the greater Philadelphia area, but one of my very favorites of all time! I love places that really take pride in the complete experience and Simpatico does just that. Dining at Simpatico is truly a treat. The restaurant is beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The place itself is lovely with high ceilings and twinkling lights. The food is always super fresh, and the attention to detail is so on point - everything is clearly lovingly prepared. My favorites are the grilled calamari appetizer, pretty much ALL of the homemade pastas, and the fish specials are amazing. And, it's BYOB to boot. The portions are generous, the servers are lovely and the food is DELICIOUS. I've never left disappointed (or hungry!). I'd give them ten stars if I could!

The food here is EXCELLENT, the service is perfect, the prices are very reasonable and it's a BYO. It's a cute little place. What more could you ask for? I had the crab meat and pasta dish and wow---it was so amazing and yummy. I've recommended this place to a few others and all have been very pleased.

Absolutly wonderful! Greeted by the head chef and guided through each course by him. Portions were filling and ingredients were fresh not to mention delicious!!

This place is nice. The customer service is excellent. The food is very tasty. The feel if the restaurant is comfortable. The pricing is reasonable except it doesn't match the portion size. Although the food tastes great the entree should have been hotter in temperature. The staff is very attentive to your needs even when you don't ask for anything. The chef even came out to check if our meals were ok. I would definitely go back here for another meal because I know it will taste good and the staff is very attentive.

New chef, completely new menu. Smaller portions and pricing compatible to The Fountain and other high-end restaurants. Not impressed. For the area it's located in, I'll keep driving. It used to be a great place to eat.

Neighborhood Gem. Great Italian food in pleasant surroundings. Young chef provides great value and wonderful fare. Many home made pastas and specials. Byob. Professional service, they want you to enjoy the table for the evening, almost like Being in Europe. Our go to spot many times, never disappointed.

I've been to Simpatico's twice now and enjoyed both experiences. The first time was Valentine's Day weekend and they had a limited menu because of it. I ordered the fried calamari and a filet and crab cake entrée. They were both very good but the pricing seemed to be inflated because of the special weekend. My fiancé and I decided to meet some friends at Simpatico's again this past weekend. This time I ordered the Misto Giardino salad and it was very good and large enough for two people to split. For dinner my fiancé ordered the Penne Salsiccia which was okay but not worth the price. I ordered the Bistecca New York(they were out of the filet). I asked for it medium rare and it came out medium well. The flavor was very good so that was the only thing really wrong with it. I have a hard time sending things back so I wound up eating it. I wish we had the option to give 1/2 stars on yelp because I would have given them 3.5 stars. I'm a sucker for BYOB's so I rounded up and gave them a 4. I would eat at Simpatico's Italian BYOB again but I'm not sure that I would order the steak. I will definitely order the calamari and the Misto Giardino salad every time.

Hands down one of the best places/BYOB ever!! Not only is the service amazing but the food is to die for! The cook is fantastic and super sweet! I had my rehearsal dinner there and they went out of there way to make it beyond special! I can't give enough stars to this place!

I'm always looking for good food close to home, and being that we love in Northeast Philly, it is never an easy job. We finally found a local place with fantastic food and exceptional service! We just went to Simpatico for the first time and will absolutely be back. Our food was phenomenal! Great portion sizes and quality dishes. My boyfriend and I had the Calamari Fritti from the menu and ordered almost all of the specials. Lobster ravioli was awesome, over stuffed ravioli and generous amounts of lump crab meat in the sauce. Our filet was cooked perfectly; juicy and tender. Even the broccoli Rabe that came with our appetizer was incredible. Service was just as good as the food. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Our server, Sandy, was attentive and kind. She knew everything we needed and wanted before we had to ask. We will definitely be back.

We had a family dinner here for 25 guest with half of them being children. The staff was extremely attentive, the food was delicious and pleanty. The evening was perfect. Every time we come here we are treated like family we are welcomed with smiles and we leave with happy bellies! I couldn't recommend a better place!

While the food was really good, the service left a bit to be desired...slow and incomplete--we wanted to order dessert for my mother in law's birthday, but the waiter never came back for us to do so. Very disappointing, when the meal itself was great. There was also a large party tonight, which was distracting for us and others around us...management news to solve these attention to detail items.

A nice BYOB a with a good variety on their menu. We had the mussels and antipasta to start- great! All of our entrees came out, were delicious, until TWO people found hair in their entrees. At first, we were going to complain at all but when the second person found hair ( half way done their meal) we had to. The service was nice and attentive during the meal, however slightly accommodating to our complaints. No manager, owner or chef came over but in the beginning checked in several times. We were offered dessert on the house which at that point, we shouldn't feel obligated to order more food just because it's free. I might be back but at this moment in time I'll skip this BYOB.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
